Honeymoon Itinerary
Day 1
Our representative will meet you on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and will transfer you to your boutique hotel where you can feed giraffes through your bedroom window.
Built in 1932, this exquisite manor house is a phenomenon with its stately façade, elegant interior, sunny terraces and delightful courtyards. Guests often remark that it’s like walking into the film Out of Africa. The house has a herd of resident Rothschild’s giraffe who roam the grounds and poke their long necks into the windows hoping for a treat, offering a truly unique experience.

Day 2
After breakfast you will be transferred to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to Samburu. You will be met at the airstrip by your guide and will game drive back to the lodge which is approximately a 45 minute drive. Samburu is home to the ‘Samburu Special Five’: the Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy zebra, Gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich.

Day 3
The lodge is comprised of only eight individual rooms with huge thatched roofs, canvas sides and sensational views down the river, over the bush and beyond. Each room is uniquely styled with its own private pool and open veranda.
Take a camel ride during the late afternoon to sundowner rock which has fantastic panoramic views of the Mathews Range. Drinks and canapes will be served before heading back to the lodge for a private dining experience under the stars.

Day 4
After an early morning walk or drive, return to a leisurely cooked breakfast, followed by a morning to enjoy a massage in the spa. There is nothing like languishing in this haven of peace and serenity whilst looking out over the baked sand of the wilderness beyond.
As the temperatures cool down in the early evening, step back into your vehicle for a short drive to the banks of the sandy Ewaso Nyiro River just below the lodge. As dusk approaches, enjoy the spectacle of young vibrant Samburu warriors as they assemble to sing and dance to celebrate the end of another day.

Day 5
Today you fly south west to one of the most spectacular wildlife destinations on the planet The Masai Mara which forms one of the world’s most diverse and spectacular eco-systems. With riverine forest and short grass plains, this area is renowned for the most exceptional big game viewing worldwide.
Perfectly situated on the banks of the Njageteck River in the private Mara North Conservancy, your boutique camp is small and intimate and in the heart of lion country, so snuggle up.

Day 6
Head out for an early morning game drive to catch the predators on the plains returning from a night of hunting and enjoy the freshness of a new day. The rest of the day can be spent game driving, walking or simply relaxing in the peaceful comfort of the camp. Head out again in the evening and watch the sun go down whilst sitting round the camp fire.

Day 7
Today is your day to see as much wildlife as the day allows. Head out for a full day in the park with a picnic lunch, taking in all that is around you. Relax by the river over lunch and enjoy watching and listening to the hippos as they wallow in the cool waters of the Mara River, the lifeline to all the animals during the dry months. Return to camp with the sun setting on your back.

Day 8
Wake up pre-dawn and experience the wilderness from above in a breathtaking hot-air balloon ride watching the land come to life as the sun rises. Suspended in a basket beneath the rainbow-coloured canopy, you are off for a game-viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective. In the time honoured tradition of balloon flights across the world, toast your return to earth with a champagne breakfast, cooked wherever you land.

Day 9
Today you venture to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean to your beachfront accommodation. This simplistic understated lodge is a jewel in Kenya’s stunning coastline and the perfect escape for honeymooners. Located on the tip of an unspoilt, idyllic desert island beach in Lamu’s archipelago, you will sleep in simple rustic cottages along the waterfront and enjoy large open living spaces and outdoor dining offering tranquility and privacy.

Day 10
Today you relax, enjoying the warm air, soft sand between your toes and your swinging hammock. Read, sunbathe, walk a little, and feast on delicious meals from locally sourced ingredients including seafood and a refreshing glass of sparkling wine. Why not? This is your honeymoon.

Day 11
Today you might feel like a little more activity and some time on the water. Take a trip out on a boat to snorkel or go for a relaxing paddle board up the mangrove creek to spot Sykes monkeys, turtles or fish eagles as they search for a meal. Head out for an evening venture to see the Carmine bee-eaters as they come into roost as the sunsets and enjoy dinner under the stars.

Day 12
Spend the morning relaxing by the pool, drifting down the peaceful mangrove creeks on a paddle board or reading a book in one of the many hammocks overlooking the sea. Following lunch you will be transferred to Lamu airport for your flight to Nairobi after which you will be transferred to the international airport for your flight home.
